This sounds a lot like the “Positive Christianity” the Nazi’s tried to establish in 3rd Reich Germany - A vision of Christianity swept clean of the weakness which the Nazi’s attributed to Jewish influences. Churches and congregations in Germany didn’t buy it then, leaving the Nazi’s to sideline the church as ‘sentimental’ and part of the female sphere.

Now, in the U.S. this ‘Positive Christianity’ seems to be flourishing, with Jesus co-opted by matcho Theo bros who project their own insecurities and daddy issues on the Son of God, re-imagining him as a thin skinned, prejudiced, misogynist gym rat.

Concerning Paula White-Cain and those like her, the Didache that told the early church that anyone who came claiming to be a prophet and asked for money was a false prophet. And those who are preaching that the weak will not inherit the earth most certainly aren't followers of Jesus Christ. Good trees don't produce such bad fruit. But their existence within the church shouldn't surprise us, Jay, because Jesus told us that there would be tares growing up right beside us, pretending to be wheat. While half of the answer is to do exactly what you are doing here, naming this false gospel openly and clearly, the other half is for us to live the kind of Christian lives that Jesus called us to. Forgive. Bless our enemies. Accept persecution with joy. Because that is how our lives shine as a light in the darkness all around us that proclaims itself to be light. God's blessings on you today!
